ROHA provides therapeutic and educational services in the field of mental health.

Since its founding in 2000 ROHA has provided therapeutic services such as individual and group counselling, support group services, art and craft therapy and life skills training to vulnerable groups such as psychiatric patients and children.
Counselling Programme

The counselling programme forms the smallest component of the Therapeutic Services, since our main focus is to counsel clients (either in individual, group or family setting) who slot into our other therapeutic services, instead of those who do not.  A number of private individuals phone us for informational or emotional support every year.  This service is free of charge.  We kindly request the public to only phone us if they really want to change their lives and not just for 'pity parties', because our small staff work on numerous projects (so their time is limited) and can only help those who wish to actually make a change.
Healing Spirit

Healing Spirit, our main therapeutic programme since 2010, focusses on teaching coping skills to children between the ages of 4 and 16 who suffer or have suffered abuse (like rape, sexual molestation and domestic violence) or come from broken homes.

We currently offer 1/2 day workshops which include a short classroom session on coping skills and interaction with the farm animals.

Right:  A group of parents and children attended the official launch in May 2010.  The youngest participant, aged 4, who has never spoken before due to emotional trauma, began to speak for the first time after he spent time interacting with the horses.

Please see the Healing Spirit website at http://healingspirit.webstarts.com for more details about the project.
